Overview
The Administrative Support III-Beach, Natural Resources position supports the superintendent of Beach Operations with any administrative duties needed. Duties include answering the phone to provide customer service to the general public; handling all workmens comp claims for beach operations, beach rescue, permits, Oso Bay, and enforcement; orders supply and managing all fleet issues. This position is an important part of Beach Operations.
Responsibilities
- Provides administrative support to the beach operations Superintendent
- Works on GLO quarterly reports for reimbursements
- Gets PO for the department and orders all supplies needed for janitorial
- Works on contracts for uniforms, port-o-potties, etc.
- Prepares the agendas for the WBAC and compiles, transcribes, and distributes minutes of the meetings
- Assists with providing Workers Compensation forms, Workers compensation information and submissions, tracking Workers compensation injuries, and providing instructions with the workers compensation process
- Tracks City vehicle accident information for the Beach Operations division
- Oversee the fleet for the division; stay on top of Fleet to make sure our equipment is being worked on.
- Answers all phone calls and handles all walk-in customers; permit sells for walk-ins and veterans free beach parking permits; answers questions pertaining to the beach operations including camping, permits, campfires, events, etc.
- Assist with overall maintenance of the organization and its offices
- Arrange for the repair and maintenance of office equipment and orders office supplies
- Performs other related duties and fulfills responsibilities as required.
Position Type and Typical Hours of Work
- Non-Exempt - Full-Time
- Non Rotating 40-hour work week, Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm; must be available to work additional hours as needed
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays is a schedule requirement
- In the event of an emergency, employees are required to work to provide for the safety and well-being of the public, including the delivery and restoration of vital services.

Minimum Qualifications
- Associates degree or two (2) year technical certificate
- Two (2) years experience

- A valid drivers license is required; successful out-of-state candidates must be able to obtain a valid Texas drivers license within 90 days of hire

Basis of Rating
