JOB SUMMARY

Apply analysis of business systems and automatic data processing solutions to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of work processes for both current and future business needs. It often involves working and consulting with business management and information technology staff to define business and work process requirements, understand application data requirements, configure applications, test system functionality, document system functionality, train users, apply the use of related tools, and participate in related project work. Develop and maintain relationships with vendors, consultants or contractors, and professional organizations to maintain professional and technical knowledge of software and systems. Negotiation, influencing and getting to consensus are key attributes of the successful Analyst.

SUMMARY OF JOB DUTIES - Essential Functions(Other duties and projects may be assigned or requested.)

• Translates conceptual user requirements into functional requirements in a clear manner that is comprehensible to consultants/project team

• Gathers and documents reporting requirements from business owners and/or business analysts, prepares functional and technical design documents; ensures proper testing/validation

• Assists in managing requests for new technology solutions or enhancements to existing technology, according to client/agreed priorities and conducts research on software products to justify recommendations and to support purchasing efforts

• Reviews, analyzes, and creates detailed documentation of business systems and user needs, including workflow, system functions, project plans, issues list, test scenarios, process and data flow diagrams and steps required to develop or modify system enhancements

• Assists the business in the development of training material

• Must have good communication skills-both written and verbal

• Understands and supports security role identification

• Possesses understanding in the areas of application programming, database and system design and understand IT client/server architectures

• Communicates values and benefits of systems and programs to foster greater levels of adoption within the organization

GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS - Education, Knowledge, and Experience

Education:

• A four-year college (Bachelors degree) or Trade/Technical School is desired.

Experience:

• A minimum of 1-3 years of direct experience.

• Position may be filled with both entry level and experienced candidates.
