This unique position is designed as a hybrid practice crossing both Family Law and Immigration Law. In boutique defense and advocacy work, these two fields frequently intersect. Issues surrounding domestic relations, custody, guardianship, and divorce. Casework may impact a client's immigration status or require holistic cross-disciplinary solutions. Your Impact & Responsibilities
· *Dual-Discipline Client Advocacy: *Manage and guide clients through interconnected, emotionally complex legal challenges, representing individuals in family law matters (divorce, custody, child support) and immigration proceedings (visas, family-based petitions, residency, and removal defense).
· *Litigation & Courtroom Presence: *Draft high-quality pleadings, motions, and briefs. Prepare meticulously for hearings, and confidently represent clients before the Pennsylvania Courts of Common Pleas as well as immigration tribunals.
· *Holistic Strategic Case Management: *Conduct initial client consultations to identify overlapping legal needs across family structures and immigration statuses, developing creative, multi-faceted case theories.
· *Commitment to Excellence: *Represent vulnerable individuals and local families with unwavering professionalism, high ethical standards, and genuine empathy.
Qualifications
· *Educational Background: *Juris Doctor (JD) degree completed or anticipated Summer 2026 of Fall 2027. Applications from current accredited law school 3L students are highly encouraged.
· *Bar Status: *Admitted to the Pennsylvania Bar
· *Interdisciplinary Curiosity: *A demonstrated interest in both Family Law and Immigration Law, whether evidenced through law school clinics, internships, elective coursework, or clerkships.
