Job Description

Commercial HVAC Technician

Pay Range: $30–$45 per hour
Posting Date: 2/19/2026

No weekends. No holidays. No on-call. No night work. No upselling.

Are you an experienced HVAC technician looking for a stable career with a predictable schedule and no sales pressure? We are seeking a skilled HVAC Technician to maintain and repair heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems in commercial buildings throughout Central Pennsylvania.

This role involves troubleshooting, routine maintenance, and system repairs across a wide range of commercial HVAC equipment. Candidates must be dependable, ethical, and committed to delivering high-quality workmanship.

Key Responsibilities

Maintenance: Perform routine inspections, cleaning, and adjustments to prevent system breakdowns

Repair: Diagnose and repair HVAC electrical and mechanical components

Troubleshooting: Identify root causes of system malfunctions and implement effective solutions

Customer Interaction: Communicate clearly with clients regarding system conditions and recommended maintenance

Safety Compliance: Follow all safety procedures and use appropriate tools and equipment

Continuous Learning: Stay current with new HVAC technologies and industry best practices

Required Skills & Qualifications

Experience

• Minimum of 5 years of field experience in heating and air conditioning, OR
• 2 years of HVAC education plus 2 years of field technical experience
  (This position is not open to entry-level or apprentice technicians.)

Licensing

• Valid driver’s license and dependable transportation

Technical Skills

Ability to operate, maintain, test, repair, and install commercial HVAC equipment, including:

• Rooftop units (up to 25 tons)
• VAV systems and air handlers
• Heat exchangers and computer room A/C units
• Steam humidifiers
• Gas-fired boilers and gas-fired water heaters
• Return air fans and exhaust fans
• Motor control centers, motor starters, and VFDs
• Building management controls

Ability to read and interpret site drawings, diagrams, and technical data such as pressure and temperature.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to climb ladders and work at heights
• Ability to sit, stand, use hands and fingers, talk, hear, and see for extended periods
• Ability to work at least 40 hours per week with occasional overtime
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds

Background Requirements

• Must pass a background check and drug screening
• Ability to perform full-scope mechanical service work, including installation, service, troubleshooting, and repair of commercial HVAC systems
• Basic knowledge of electrical systems and commercial HVAC retrofit/replacement work
