Job Description:
\n Under the direction of a Vascular Interventional Radiologist, vascular technologists perform non-invasive vascular exams in order to assess for vascular disease or disorders. Vascular technologists assist physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of a wide variety of disorders affecting the vascular system.
\n Education/Skills Required:
\n
\n - Must be hold vascular certification by either the ARDMS or ARRT (VS).
\n - Must have a minimum of 5 years ultrasound experience in a hospital setting, excluding training time.
\n - Must have minimum of one year experience as a Vascular Technologist.
\n - Ability to keep informed of best practices and advancements in vascular technology.
\n - Advanced ability to summarize findings and maintain patient records.
\n - Requires sufficient sensitivity and interpersonal skills in dealing with apprehensive patients and family in a professional and compassionate manner.
\n - Requires positive and effective communicating skills for interaction with physicians and staff in any situation.
\n - Requires the ability to think and act quickly in order to deliver efficient quality care in a variety of stressful situations.
\n - Must maintain a working knowledge of all ultrasound equipment.
\n - Must be BLS certified (or obtained within 3 months).
\n - As applicable, the individual has training/competency in attending to the special needs and/or behaviors appropriate to the age of the patients for which care is being provided.
