As an AI Researcher on AI.x, you will play a key role in bringing these priorities to life by advancing cutting-edge AI research and developing innovative solutions. This role is more than a research position. As an AI Researcher (Azure & Copilot), you will design, investigate, and develop novel AI models and algorithms in the Microsoft Azure and Copilot ecosystem. As an expert in Microsoft Copilot, Azure AI Foundry and AI Agents, you will be developing AI agents and creating quantitative measure of the effectiveness of AI solutions. You will work closely with architects, engineers, and business leaders to align research efforts with Schwab’s enterprise strategy. You will help build strong scientific practices and foster a culture of continuous learning. You will lead by example in tackling complex technical challenges, advancing research standards, and driving rapid experimentation from concept to application. Above all, you will bring curiosity, creativity, and technical depth to help shape the next generation of AI at Schwab. Required Qualifications: A master’s or other advanced degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics or related field, or equivalent industry 7+ years of experience in AI / ML research and development using Python 7+ years of experience building data pipelines and data analyses that interface with large datasets 3 + years of experience using AI models to deliver business value Advanced expertise in Azure AI Foundry, Copilot and the full Microsoft AI ecosystem Preferred Skills: Strong data science fundamentals, including using SQL, Python data frames (e.g. pandas) and data visualization using Python Experience working with LLMs and shipping LLM-powered applications to production Ability to work across teams and functions, collaborating effectively to deliver business value Strong communication skills – you balance written and verbal communication to clearly share your perspective with others on the team. Ability to solve complex problems with ambiguous or incomplete data Experience working with and mentoring engineers, through presentations, clear feedback and code reviews Curiosity about new technologies and processes – you always seek to improve yourself and everyone around you and proactively seek and share knowledge with others on your team. Demonstrated mindset of continuous learning and improvement. Demonstrated business domain knowledge related to all products you have worked on.
