Butcher & Bee is an East Nashville restaurant built on honest-to-goodness food, local sourcing, and the belief that great hospitality happens when you take care of your people first. Our vegetable-forward, Middle Eastern–leaning menu changes with the seasons, driven by chef Chris DeJesus and the relationships we’ve built with Tennessee farmers and ranchers over the past decade. We’ve been recognized locally and nationally for sustained excellence and were named Nashville’s Best Restaurant by the Nashville Scene in 2025.

We’re looking for a beverage forward Assistant General Manager who leads from the floor, cares deeply about hospitality, and wants to grow within a multi-concept restaurant group. Butcher & Bee is the flagship of Honest to Goodness Hospitality, which also operates Fancypants, Redheaded Stranger, and The Daily across Nashville, Atlanta, and Charleston. This isn’t a placeholder title—it’s a real leadership role with real room to grow.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead front-of-house service —setting the tone on the floor during dinner and weekend brunch
  • Manage, train, coach, and develop FOH team members, supporting a staff that’s knowledgeable, warm, and consistent
  • Own daily operations: opening and closing procedures, shift management, floor plans, reservations, and guest communications
  • Partner with the kitchen on service flow, menu rollouts, and education
  • Support scheduling, labor management, and inventory
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and code-compliant front of house
  • Lead private events and buyouts in The Rose Room and courtyard spaces
  • Contribute to hiring and onboarding, helping build a team that reflects our values and culture
  • Step into GM responsibilities when needed

What We’re Looking For

  • 2+ years in a management or supervisory role in an ambitious full-service restaurant
  • A floor leader—someone who’s happiest when they’re in the dining room, reading tables, and making adjustments in real time
  • Strong knowledge of food, wine, and cocktails, with the curiosity to keep learning
  • Experience with scheduling, labor cost management, and P&L basics
  • A calm, clear and positive communicator
  • Proficiency with restaurant technology (POS systems, reservation platforms, inventory tools)
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • A genuine love for hospitality—not just the industry, but the act of taking care of people

Why Butcher & Bee

  • Competitive salary with weekly pay
  • Group health plans for full-time team members, funded in part by our Healthy Hospitality charge
  • Employer-matched IRA
  • Parental leave savings match program
  • A path to grow within a multi-concept hospitality group
  • A nationally–recognized restaurant with great press and a loyal local following
  • A company that promotes from within and invests in its people
  • A culture rooted in transparency, teamwork, and the belief that great hospitality starts behind the scenes

Our Values

  • Include & Empower People. We’re building a diverse, equitable team and community—on purpose.
  • Foster Connection Through Food. We source locally, cook seasonally, and create shared experiences that connect people to their food’s journey.
  • No Detail Is Too Small. World-class and unpretentious aren’t opposites. We major in the minor details.
  • Make a Real Impact. We use our platform to support positive change in our industry and communities.
