Gem Home, Flynn McGarry's Nolita bakery & cafe, is looking for talented and passionate cooks to join our team!

A cook will be responsible for production and service of all food items at Gem Home. This position will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

• Showing up to work on time with specified uniform
• Organizing and communicating shift coverage in advance
• Responsible for daily prep list as assigned by kitchen manager
• Handle production of baked goods, bread, prepared goods, and more
• Work service effectively and efficiently
• Cleaning and organization of kitchen
• Assisting with ordering
• Weekly deep cleaning
• Storage area organization
• Participate in quarterly employee performance reviews

Required Qualifications: 

• Ability to work a flexible schedule. 
• Available nights, weekends, and holidays as needed

Physical Qualifications:

• Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time including moving safely through all areas of the restaurant
• Ability to lift objects 50+ pounds in weight
• Safely and effectively use all tools and equipment
• Navigate tight and crowded spaces in a safe manner
