Position Summary
A well-established senior living and continuing care retirement community located in Catonsville, Maryland is seeking a highly experienced and compassionate Director of Nursing to join their dedicated leadership team. The Director of Nursing plays a critical role in shaping the overall quality of care provided to residents. Core Responsibilities

  • Oversee resident assessments, individualized care planning, and coordination of services across all levels of care
  • Monitor clinical outcomes and implement quality improvement initiatives to drive measurable improvements in resident health and safety
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with all state, federal, and local regulations governing senior care facilities
  • Recruit, hire, train, mentor, and retain a high-performing nursing team
  • Manage nursing department budgets, staffing schedules, and resource allocation effectively
  • Serve as a key liaison between nursing staff, medical providers, residents, families, and administrative leadership
  • Lead incident investigations and root cause analyses, implementing corrective actions as needed
  • Maintain accurate and thorough clinical documentation in accordance with regulatory requirements

Must-Have Requirements
  • Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse license in the State of Maryland
  • Minimum of five years of clinical nursing experience, with at least two years in a supervisory or leadership role
  • Prior experience in a senior living, skilled nursing, long-term care, or assisted living environment strongly preferred
  • Comprehensive knowledge of state and federal regulations governing long-term care facilities
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop multidisciplinary nursing teams
  • Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with residents, families, and staff
  • Proficiency with electronic health record systems and clinical documentation platforms
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing required; Master of Science in Nursing or healthcare administration preferred
