Finance employees receive, account for, monitor, and design internal controls to safeguard sacred funds (donated confidentially in obedience to God's commandments) for the Church's religious mission under the direction of senior ecclesiastical leaders. Prepare, analyze, and review financial statements and budgets. Prepare management reports, train personnel in financial principles, help prepare policies and procedures, and perform internal reviews and some accounting functions. Customers, including operational and financial managers and supervisors, will receive information that will help them conduct the business and financial affairs of a large, complex unit or division in a legal and professional manner.

Prepare and analyze budgets and financial statements using various financial data sources
Anticipate future financial needs and trends
Conduct analytical reviews of budgets and financial statements
Reconcile appropriation and cash flow budgets to the general ledger
Ensure correct coding and compliance with generally accepted accounting principles
Identify financial trends and potential areas of concern
Initiate and report basic financial adjustments as needed
Prepare management reports and investigate financial alternatives
Create reports, charts, and graphs to illustrate financial findings
Recommend financial adjustments based on analysis
Perform on-site internal control reviews
Review documents related to budget appropriation or transfers
Collaborate with division managers to resolve financial discrepancies
Conduct cost studies and overhead analyses of income sources
Perform cost justifications and savings analyses for equipment and data processing hardware
Prepare and document financial procedures
Provide functional advice or training to less-experienced financial analysts
Requirements
Hold a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Management
Possess five to eight years of relevant experience in accounting, auditing, or business management
CMA, CPA, or MBA credentials are preferred
Demonstrate understanding of accounting principles and Church accounting systems
Operate a personal computer with proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet software
Be capable of learning and adapting to new software tools
