Bark Barbecue is opening a second 8,700 sq. ft. flagship destination in the heart of North Brooklyn (East Williamsburg/Bushwick) and is seeking hospitality professionals to join our opening team.

This is an opportunity to be part of an industry-leading buildout from the ground up, helping shape the systems, culture, and standards of a high-volume restaurant focused on exceptional barbecue, hospitality, and craftsmanship.

Position: Roast Cook

Roast Cooks play a critical role in Bark's barbecue program and work directly alongside the Pitmaster to support daily production. This is a high-opportunity role designed for someone interested in learning the craft of barbecue through hands-on experience and mentorship.

Responsibilities include preparing and seasoning meats, assisting with smoker operations, monitoring product quality throughout the cooking process, handling and resting cooked meats, maintaining production schedules, organizing inventory, and supporting the daily operations of the smoker room. Roast Cooks help ensure every product meets Bark's standards for quality, consistency, and food safety while gaining exposure to all aspects of large-scale barbecue production.

Training will be provided. While prior barbecue experience is not required, this position is ideal for prep cooks, line cooks, chefs, meat prep staff, and other culinary professionals looking to expand their skills and learn the craft of barbecue production.

Ideal Candidates

• Previous experience as a prep cook, line cook, chef, meat prep, or kitchen professional is preferred but not required
• Strong work ethic and willingness to perform physically demanding work
• Organized, detail-oriented, and committed to consistency
• Reliable, punctual, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
• Team-oriented, coachable, and eager to learn
