Position Overview

The Senior Telecommunications Engineer will lead the design, review, and implementation of advanced telecommunication systems for oil and gas projects. This role requires expertise in engineering deliverables, network architecture, cybersecurity compliance, and integration of multiple telecom technologies. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge, leadership skills, and the ability to manage complex projects in a fast-paced environment.

Base pay range

$85.00/hr - $115.00/hr

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review telecommunication engineering deliverables, including design basis, specifications, system block diagrams, and datasheets.
• Develop and review network and hosting architecture designs in collaboration with internal discipline engineers.
• Ensure cybersecurity compliance through internal review and approval processes.

Technical Calculations & Analysis

• Perform radio coverage and Fresnel zone calculations, antenna height estimations.
• Conduct fiber optic link budget calculations, data and telephony traffic analysis, bandwidth and capacity planning.
• Calculate public address sound pressure levels, telecom equipment power consumption, and heat loads.

System Architecture & Drawings

• Provide input for engineering drawings: device location plans, cable routing layouts, installation details, interconnection diagrams, MDF/IDF schematics, FO allocation diagrams, and equipment schedules.
• Review and comment on diagrams and schedules prepared by designers.
• Coordinate with other engineering disciplines and review cross-discipline deliverables.
• Conduct onshore and offshore site surveys.
