Learn About a Day in the Life of a PCT:
Responsibilities - Work in partnership with the registered nurse to support patient care.
- Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to complete delegated tasks for patients under the supervision of a registered nurse.
- Monitor patients and report patients' condition at regular intervals and promptly report any signs or symptoms of concern.
- Obtain and record patients' vital signs.
- Assist patients with mobility and basic tasks, such as bathing, dressing, eating, and other ADLs.
- Demonstrate proficiency in phlebotomy and collect specimens for labs.
- Respond to call lights, provide patient transport and maintain a clean and safe environtment for patients and staff.
Qualifications Job Requirements:
- High School diploma or GED
- Basic Life Support certification
- Knowledge of patient care procedures
Preferred Job Requirements:
- Demonstrated proficiency in phlebotomy
- Completion of approved CNA, PCT or paramedic certification
