The Role
Student Interpretation & Engagement Assistants will be at the heart of the Pitzhanger's visitor experience. You'll be one of the welcoming faces greeting guests, sharing stories about the Manor, the Gallery, and the life and legacy of Sir John Soane. You'll also collaborate with staff and fellow students to help reimagine how we interpret our historic spaces, contributing directly to a new interpretation strategy launching in 2026-27.
Commitment: The placement will start on Wednesday 1st October and End on Friday 19th December. There are 8 roles available for this position. Training will take place on Wednesday 1st October or Friday 3rd October. This is a fully in person position.
Working Hours: You must be available to work one day per week, between Wednesday and Saturday. Each shift is 8 hours long (7 hours paid, with a 1-hour unpaid lunch break). Your working day may vary each week, but your university schedule will be taken into account when planning rotas. You will occasionally be asked to support their Thursday evening events. Over the course of the 3-month placement, you'll work approximately 84 hours in total.
Pay: £13.85, London Living Wage
